Seiko has released the SSE121J Limited Edition designed by Giugiaro.
It is being offered in a limited edition of 3000 individually numbered timepieces.
The design of this new Astron GPS Solar watch pays homage to the legendary watch that housed the world's first analogue quartz chronograph caliber. This, now avidly collected watch was developed by Seiko and Giugiaro Design in 1983. The worlds first Quartz Chronograph. It was designed for motor sport, with the offset case allowing the chronograph buttons to be used with ease, even when travelling at speed on a motor cycle. It was an immediate, and lasting, success throughout the world and is still revered by motor sport fans and watch collectors today.
The look of the 1983 original is plain to see. The use of colour, black, red & green is pure Giugiaro & harks back to a previous Limited Edition Astron he did for Seiko.
The watch uses the Seiko 8X82 Chronograph GPS Solar movement. As with all Astrons, providing you with accurate time, wherever you are in the world.
The case and strap are both Titanium with the super hard Black Coating.
A beautiful watch & one for the collectors shelf.
