The most common watch battery in use today is the Silver Oxide battery. Generally speaking a good quality one will power your watch for 18 months to 2 years. But be warned, once your batteries energy is depleted the battery may leak and cause extensive damage to the workings of your watch. So when you watch is due for a battery change have it attended to, even if it's just to remove the old battery and not replace it!
